DEQ's Mission To protect human health and the quality of Idaho’s air, land, and water. DEQ is a state department created by the Idaho Environmental Protection and Health Act to ensure clean air, water, and land in the state and protect Idaho citizens from the adverse health impacts of pollution. Changes in ground-water quality as a result of mining are assessed largely on the basis of results of previous studies and case histories. A review of basic data on ground- water quality was performed in a region in Pennsylvania that has been heavily mined by underground methods for many years.

depth-to-water measurements and logs of selected wells and test holes, and chemical analyses of ground water. Welcome to the Nineteenth Tennessee Water Resources Symposium sponsored by the Tennessee Section of the American Water Resources Association.

We have come together again this year, as we have for eighteen years before, to share insight, perspectives, and a common concern for the future of Tennessee’s environment and its people.Monitoring wells were strategically placed to evaluate shallow ground water quality throughout the watershed.

Well screens were placed at depths ranging from about 2 meters (m) to about 13m. The wells were monitored monthly for nitrate-nitrogen and selected pesticides.Like most areas of the United States, the source waters of the New York City supply are affected, to varying degrees, by a range of pollutants.

This chapter describes water quality constituents of primary concern in the New York City drinking water supply—microbial pathogens, nitrogen, phosphorus.
